The best book in the world!

Tuesday 14 December 2010
With the festive season fast approaching, my mum asked me what I wanted for Christmas? 'The best book in the world!' I said.
'What? More books?' she replied. (I seriously believe you can never have enough books!)
Anyway... the best book in the world is called '1001 Children's books to read before you grow up.'
When I was telling some kids about it recently they said - 'Man, that must be a huge book!' as they held their arms wide. :)
I have to admit - it is a fat book - but it hasn't got all the stories in it, but a page on each book chosen, telling you a bit about it, the author, the country it came from etc. It's AWESOME!
So - guess what I'm getting for Christmas!
I've begun hunting and collecting copies of books it lists. From classics like 'Winnie the Pooh', 'Black Beauty', 'Treasure Island' and 'The Water babies' right through to 'Harry Potter', NZ's 'See Ya Simon' and picture books like 'Arrival'.
So now I've got even more reading to do!
