It's been fantastic day - talking to schools about visiting with new books, hosting a new improved adult writing group and getting back into the buzz of the new school year. I can't wait to get out there and talking about books!
I haven't been blogging for ages but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I've read tons of brand new books and have been editing my first ever manuscript - something I began back in 2002 when I first began writing!
So this was my final, final edit on a story that has been written, rewritten and turned on its head - something I couldn't leave in the drawer - so now it's ready to send off.... gulp!
I've also been busy with the first get together of the Beattie & Forbes Tween Book club and getting ready for the the next one on the 7th February. Remember 5.30pm at Beattie & Forbes Booksellers - Napier. (1st Tuesday of every month 8-12yr olds). We have tons of cool plans for this year. See you there!
But in the meantime, here are some great reads for 2012 so far....
This was a great read. The character's world is brutal and non-forgiving but he battles his fears and tough life lessons to do what he thinks is right.

A great read for anyone who has a 'haunted house' in their neighbourhood. The reader has to unravel the mystery along with the characters - before it is too late!
This was a great read, sure to please anyone who likes something grisly, scary and funny at the same time. This is Hansel & Gretel as you've never seen it before....
It reminded me of the movie Hoodwinked! - where they tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood from a different perspective.
Enjoy!
